I have recently read a book by Barbara Winter, in her book, “making a living without a job”, I was introduced to the concept of JJ (joyfully jobless), is like a new form for self-employed. The book introduces a simple yet important idea. that is
“Being rich isn’t about having money. Being rich is about having options. “
Option to quit the rat race…
Option to own your own yacht…
Option to travel with the loved one…
But it is the unknown that we scared most, that we missed all the opportunities…
Don’t fear the unknown
Some of the common excuses that stop people into self-employment are not having enough money, same goes with investing. Thinking that it’s too complicated, or just not knowing their options or criticism or whining from friends and family. The problem is, most of these people who use these excuses have not even tried, but are quick to give up based on other people’s thought.
You see, the journey towards becoming a JJ was never meant to be easy, the ride will be bouncy, but guess what, once you have started, there’s one thing for sure, no matter what’s the end result, you wouldn’t feel regret because it is such a fun and exciting journey!
I am going to use the quotes from Morpheus in the Matrix:
“This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill – the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill – you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes. You take the blue pill – the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill – you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.”
So what is your option when comes to decide your own finances? Have you ever consider being a joyfully jobless?
